Unique Customer Problem

• A customer approached AJB requiring a new transaction switch that offered a modular solution for payment authorization and file polling
• The customer requested that the modular payment switch encompass the capability to handle various types of WAN protocol, dial-up and frame relay
• To solve this problem the customer needed a solution to be delivered successfully fulfilling each specific customer requirement

AJB’s Solution

• AJB implemented multiple Retail Transaction Switch (RTS) networks allowing this merchant to keep selected stores in a dial-up environment, while switching the remaining store locations over to dedicated frame connections
• Multiple RTS’ were implemented to provide this merchant the capability to permit different sources of data to be processed independent of an originating operating system
• Utilizing RTS, the merchant was able to replace many of their dial-up connections with frame relay making real-time data polling easy
• AJB was also able to install the RTS Gift Card module at the store level providing the merchant the ability to activate a successful gift card program very quickly
• As the customer proceeded with the new transaction switch they were very satisfied with the flexibility of their internal infrastructure because the solution gave them the ability to install additional AJB payment modules at their own pace
• The customer was provided with the means of a seamless and speedy transition to the new transaction switch due to AJB’s vast payment software knowledge and experience
• AJB worked directly with this merchant implementing a quality customized solution managing the entire chain’s transaction traffic including that of its recently adopted gift cards
