Unique Customer Problem

• A customer approached AJB requiring the capability of an integrated Point-of-Sale (POS) into their convenience and gas station locations across Canada and the United States of America
• To solve this problem the customer needed a solution to be delivered to successfully fulfilling each specific requirement of both the Canadian and U.S. applications

AJB’s Solution

• AJB implemented the Flexible Integrated Payment System (FiPay) store component, which is the ultimate store level communication application connecting the merchants PIN pad devices, POS system, Retail Transaction Switch (RTS) network, and financial institutions
• For this customer, two variations of FiPay were installed and certified
• FiPay PIN was implemented, which provides an integrated solution for credit and debit processing within their retail environment
• The second variation implemented from the FiPay product suite was FiPay @ The Pump, which allowed this merchant to seamlessly integrate both POS retail lanes and gas pumps to accept electronic payment
• This configuration allows the same POS to operate the fuel dispensing pumps which are outside of the retail location, allowing the same functionality to be performed if the customer chooses to pay using the PIN Pad located at the pump station or selects to pay inside
• The final piece of this implementation was a centrally located Retail Transaction Switch (RTS) which allows the customer to take advantage of better processing rates by centralizing the entire payment process into a single processor
• RTS is the ideal product solution because it has the capability to permit different sources of data to be processed independent of an originating operating system
• The customer was provided with the means of a seamless and speedy transition to the new POS due to AJB’s premium product suite
