Unique Customer Problem

  • A customer with locations across the globe approached AJB about developing a solution to enable all electronic payments to be consolidated under a single switching platform with the flexibility to grow as their business expanded
  • An additional requirement was requested, the need to be capable of serving the different banking sectors and payment processing requirements throughout the three distinct geographical and banking locations
  • To solve this problem the customer needed an integrated solution to be fully functional across multiple countries meeting many unique payment industry standards

AJB’s Solution

  • AJB deployed a total of six Retail Transaction Switch (RTS) servers through the different markets to handle the regional needs of this international customer
  • In Canada, the system was structured around two central RTS switches to handle pinned debit and credit to a Canadian authorizer
  • In the U.S., two RTS switches were installed utilizing several authorizers offering the best rate on the entire scope of electronic payments including credit, pinned debit, gift card and private label
  • The European installation consisted of two fully scalable and redundant RTS servers to accept European originated EMV credit, debit and gift card transactions, and a settlement server
  • The implemented solution also performs merchandise returns to the merchant’s own central AS400 from all geographical locations
  • The implementation of this solution has given the merchant the power to accept and perform electronic payment processing across the multiple banking sectors with the capability to handle unlimited growth and scalability in the future
