Unique Customer Problem

  • A customer approached AJB requiring the consolidation of their store operations over multiple communication protocols
  • Operations included payment processing and file transfer via IP and customer lookup via MQ communications
  • To solve this distinct problem the customer needed a solution to be delivered quickly and efficiently on each individual platform

AJB’s Solution

  • AJB was able to configure several payment servers and Retail Polling Module (RPM) servers in multiple locations
  • RPM allows services, such as credit and debit transactions a guaranteed share of the network bandwidth to ensure rapid customer service
  • RPM provided this merchant with great flexibility in implementation of polling due to its scalability and high degree of configurability
  • Three payment and RPM servers were configured in the primary location and three additional servers were configured at a safe off-site Disaster Recovery Program location
  • AJB also configured a store level Flexible Integrated Payment System (FiPay) that was enhanced to offer multiple connection based on the transaction type authorization vs. customer lookup
  • The primary connection functionality was implemented for the authorization of credit, debit and gift card transactions which allows the store to easily send authorization requests, the secondary connection functionality was developed to connect via IP to servers providing the capability to perform customer lookup requests
  • As the result of the premium solution provided to this merchant the deployed servers are able to communicate over multiple communication protocols which are TCP/IP and MQ
  • The customer was provided with the means of a smooth and quick transition to the new communication protocols due to AJB’s premium product suite
